In May, 112 “golden” visas were granted, of which 93 were for the acquisition of real estate and 19 were granted through the capital transfer criterion. The investment in the purchase of real estate totaled 44.9 million euros in April. The Investment obtained through golden visas grew 94% in May, compared to the same month of 2021, to 53.8 million euros, according to data from the Portuguese Foreigners and Borders Service (SEF).
112 ‘gold’ visas were awarded (in January they had been 94, in February also 94, in March 73 and in April 121), of which 93 by the acquisition of real estate (48 for urban rehabilitation) and 19 using the capital transfer criterion. Investment in the purchase of real estate was 44.9 million euros in April – 16.8 million euros in urban rehabilitation, while in the transfer of capital the value was 8.8 million euros.
Last month 17 ARI were granted to China, 16 to the United States, 10 to Brazil, 8 to Lebanon and 7 to India. In this period, 138 residence permits were granted to regrouped family members and in the total of the year, 531. In the first five months of the year, the investment raised totaled more than 238 million euros.
Since the ARI concession program was launched in October 2012, 6,338,112,974.07 euros have been raised through this instrument. Of this amount, the majority corresponds to the purchase of real estate, which totaled 5,697,568,048.36 euros, until last month, and the acquisition for urban rehabilitation, which amounted to 434,363,153.14 euros.
